You Actually Don't Have Time To Book Your Desired Trip!

The great news is people are feeling better about traveling and are actively making travel plans!

The not so good news is that you don't have as much time to plan as you think!

If you think you can wait until June to book your desired family vacation in August, you're sadly mistaken!

Families that canceled their vacations in 2020 due to the pandemic rebooked in 2021.

Travelers have worked with travel advisors to book their 1st choice desired destinations at the beginning of the year, although their trip is in September.

Many destinations are filling up quickly because so many people were on lockdown last year. They're anxious to connect with family and friends away from home and reserved multiple rooms across many desired travel destinations/properties.

So what can you do to plan for your trip in light of the travel surge?

  1. Be clear about your travel destination and accommodations.

  2. Make a list of 1st choice and second-choice destinations.

  3. Be realistic about your travel budget. Just like in any other planning process -- your budget drives everything.

  4. Work with a travel advisor to book your trip early and travel later. Often travel advisors can offer flexible monthly payment plans for your trip.

  5. Designate a group leader for your trip if you are planning a group trip. This person will be responsible for communicating travel information to the travel advisor that represents travelers' desires.

  6. Ensure that all travelers have current passports. No one should be traveling on a passport with an imminent expiration date.

  7. Ensure that all travelers are on the same page with travel plans. Often group travelers have different budgets/tastes/expectations -- decide how the group will move/ travel to accommodate all parties in the group.

  8. Educate yourself on your travel destination's entry/exit requirements and build any necessary time for possible COVID screenings in your travel timeline.

  9. Secure travel insurance. Anything could happen in this COVID environment, and it's prudent to protect your travel investment.

  10. Breathe. It will all work out!
