5 Travel Tip You Need To Know Right Now!

Yes, it's time to start thinking about how you're going to make up for lost travel time in 2020, wherever you fall on the spectrum about the vaccine and how the U.S. and the world are slowly recovering from the global pandemic -- you like most Americans are ready to resume parts of your old normal even though we are forever part of a "new" normal.

With that in mind, I want to bring you 5 Need To Know Travel Tips. The most helpful piece of advice I can offer you is to plan, plan, plan. In addition to that, here's some more information that you don't want to travel without.

  1. Obtain Travel Insurance. This may seem not very pleasant initially -- having to pay a little more over top of your travel purchase. However, travel insurance provides peace of mind for unexpected occurrences while traveling. What if you or a loved one got sick while in the jungle of Costa Rica and you need to be transported by air to the nearest city? Who's paying for that? I know you didn't think that was free. Get the travel insurance.

  2. Check the Destination Embassy Page for COVID Entry/Exit Information. You're excited to get to Bali and the only thing you read is your itinerary. Not good. Please take the time out in this environment and for your education to become familiar with the Embassy services and get in the habit of being up to date on any COVID entry/exit requirements. It's your trip and your responsibility.

  3. Register with STEP for International Travel. The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service to allow U.S. citizens and nationals traveling and living abroad to enroll their trip with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. https://step.state.gov/ If you enjoy reading information on apps, download the app - search for Smart Traveler and make sure that you see the U.S. Department of State logo.

  4. You Have The COVID VACCINE? GREAT. YOU STILL NEED A NEGATIVE COVID TEST 72 HOURS BEFORE ENTRY TO THE US. According to the U.S. State Department, your vaccine doesn't exempt you from presenting a negative COVID test when returning to the U.S. Be sure to check the U.S. Embassy page for the country you're visiting for COVID entry/exit requirements.

  5. If Your Passport Is Scheduled To Expire -- Apply ASAP. With the expected travel surge, there will also be a flood of passport renewals and new passport requests - get ahead of the rush and apply for your passport now!
