Chyari...The Illustrator Behind the Celebrity Favorite FlightsInStilettos Glam Girl Beach Towels

If you have ever wondered who's behind the 2019 and 2020 iconic FlightsInStilettos Glam Girl Beach Towels artwork, I am pleased to introduce you to mega artist extraordinaire Clarisa "Chyari" Coleman!

Having worked alongside Chyari's mom ( Charlene) for years, she was no stranger to me. I watched Chyari complete high school and college never once imagining we'd partner up a few years later. That's just what we did! After having lunch with Chyari's mom, she and I were discussing several business ideas which included my idea to work with a local artist to design additional Glam Girl beach towels. To my surprise, she volunteered her daughter Clarisa's services. I was like Clarisa? She was like yes....and sent me a few pictures of Clarisa's artwork for me to check out. I was immediately impressed and felt as if God had shown me favor once again! I loved the point of view of her artwork and how incredibly original and fresh her perspective was. From that day forward, Clarisa and I have embarked on a professional relationship that I couldn't be more pleased with.

We've been working together for quite some time and the time has come for me to spotlight this amazingly talented black girl magic millennial!!!

I am super ecstatic to have hired Chyari to exclusively design for FlightsInStilettos. Led by my vision for my brand FlightsInStilettos, my Glam Girl Beach Towels designed by Chyari have been spotted around the world and with a vast number of celebrities.

Here's a little bit of my exclusive interview with Chyari. We chopped it up about several interesing issues! Check it out.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, where are you from, where did you attend school?

My name is Clarisa, I go by the art name of “Chyari”. I am from a small town in Upper Marlboro, Maryland and I went to Morgan State University. I enjoy playing video games, longboarding, traveling, drawing, and hanging with friends!

How do you describe your profession – graphic artist, illustrator or both?

I would say both. I am a graphic designer by day and my job implements a lot of illustrations as well. I would say illustration is my true passion.

How old were you when you discovered your artistic abilities?

Oh man, very young, probably in kindergarten. One of my oldest memories was getting in trouble in class because I was drawing all the time, not paying attention. I especially remember because I would get in trouble at home when my teachers called my mom. I didn’t care though, I just became more discreet withdrawing.

What’s the most exciting project that you have worked on that enabled you to show what you’ve got artistically?

That’s a great question, I have a lot of projects I loved doing so much. I am currently a graphic designer for a tourism agency called Destination DC. I am always assigned to illustrate the cover of the Officials Visitors Guides of DC. I mostly have creative freedom but have to keep it DC themed. The guide is distributed throughout the city and millions of people get to see the cover, those in the city and those who travel to DC!

What do you think about the brand FlightsInStilettos? And what did you think about designing the Glam Girl Beach towels? I love the brand FlightsIn Stilettos!

I love how the brand entails getting dressed up and looking your best while traveling. I honestly love anything travel because it’s one of my passions. I love designing the Glam Girl Beach towels because my favorite subjects to draw are women. Most importantly, the towels include the diversity of women.

What else can we expect from you professionally in the future?

You can expect a lot! For now, I plan on selling art prints of my work and potentially other stationery items. I like to be open to opportunities, so who knows what the far future may hold.

How can my readers keep up with you on social media?

I have a Youtube channel and Instagram, to showcase the behind the scenes of my art Youtube- Chyari Art Instagram: Chyarii (personal) Chyari.art (art account)

Chyari is such a humble soul. She’s talented and gracious and is on the rise. Let’s uplift and support this queen in all of her future efforts. She is the BOMB.COM! Chyari is definitely one to watch and easily could rank in the top 30 under 30!
